Ídasse Malendza

A second reading of the theme of Toques e Sensibilidade, this canvas works a warmer register: faces and animal forms surface through bands of orange, red and patterned ochre, touch passing between them like current. The composition rests on Ídasse's signature interlock — no figure complete without its neighbour — and carries the series' subject, sensitivity itself, into denser, hotter ground.
