Ídasse Malendza

Toques e Sensibilidade — Touches and Sensibility — belongs to an earlier chapter of Ídasse's practice, painted a full decade before his current series and already marking the territory his mature work would claim. The title speaks of contact: not only the physical act of touching, but the receptive intelligence that touch demands — the capacity to feel form, weight, presence.

In oil on canvas, Ídasse weaves figuration and abstraction — bodies not fully rendered, surfaces that hold sensation rather than description. The palette carries the warmth and ochres of Mozambique, grounded in earth and light.
